“I am a 54-year-old father of 3, and grandfather of 2. I have been in the Grounds Maintenance business in various forms for nearly 30 years.

I started with my local council many years ago. I have also worked for a small independent landscaping company doing works from grass laying and cutting, to decking and block paving, plus many other tasks.

I have spent most of the last 15 years working for a large commercial grounds’ maintenance company (the last 12 years as a regional contract manager). After 12 years in the same post, I was getting bored, I cast my net out looking for other options and was offered a post with LIONS. Although the work they do was not what I was used to, it was still within the GM industry and offered new interests, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Working with LIONS has re-awakened my passion for maintaining the world that we live in, and I like to think I am doing my bit for conservation with the works that we do.

I have also developed a taste for life on the water, which I never had…. started Kayaking with my wife….”
