The Winter of 2023/24 saw a 300 metre stretch of English native hedgerow being planted. As part of the Biodiversity Net Gain momentum, the creation and enhancement of native hedgerows, has distinctive ecological importance.
This particular hedgerow utilised Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Goat Willow, Field Maple, Crab Apple and Cherry Plum, to name just a few.
Due to sheep grazing on the site, we also installed stock fencing to allow the hedgerow to establish, without becoming tasty food first!
The project itself went without a hitch – once we managed to get a dry window from the horrendous amount of rain we’ve been having!
As always, we pride ourselves in all aspects of works we carry out. If you would like more information or would like to discuss your own planting project then please do get in touch.
